I actually updated RC LE last night and played around with standalone, piping MIDI out to Reaper. If you choose Dedicated process then each plugin with that setting runs in its own process, leaving everything else alone when they crash. If one crashes they all crash, but leave Reaper alone. If you choose Seperate Process then all the plugins with that option enabled will run in one process that is seperate from Reaper. With that settings, you go into the FX browser and right click on any dodgy plugins and go into the Run As menu for the options. The default is Automatic bridging (when required). You can either go to Preferences -> Plug-ins (Compatibilty) -> VST bridging/firewalling and set it globally. it is one of the only (and best) things of its kind.Ĭhris (RC user / friend of MusicDevelopments) Just wait til you guys see version 2.3, and the new Generator type. I haven't used it in years and especially after he ignored me. I honestly got a "holier than thou" attitude from him, which is what turned me off Cognitone products for life.Īlso, I was one of the first people to buy Harmony Navigator when it was released ($130 USD at the time). And when I was more active on their forum, he'd ignore everything I asked, but the customers would help. There were emails I sent to Andre that went unanswered completely (about 10 emails). And Attila seems much more communicative than Andre. RC can do the same and more, for 80% less. Andre charges WAY too much for what it does. bonus if you can record with screencasting software so it can follow you every step of the way and catch the steps that caused a crash.Īs far as Synfire/Congnitone goes. So yeah, if you guys (any owners or regular users of the demo) could use the program more and let him know of any bugs, that's great. He's not a musician, but that's where we come in. He's a very nice guy and cares about his customers. If I get a crash, I let him know exactly what I did and the problem's solved with the new update, released within days. I've suggested various things to him over the last 18 months and he has implemented them in the software, unselfishly. But with more people reporting bugs to him, the faster he is able to release updates that take care of them all. he's basically a one-man operation, making something so ridiculously, mathematically and alogorithmically intense. You guys should give Attila the benefit of the doubt. I actually just made a 30-minute tutorial I'll be posting on YouTube in the next hour or so. and it's been 98% stable, only crashing when I did something stupid. I have a Beta of 2.3 currently, with a new (insanely useful) tool in it. it has become FAR more stable than version 1 and any versions even several months back. I took interest in this program about a year and a half ago, and believe me. just an email friend of Attila, the developer. I'm not an employee of Music Developments, FYI. You guys have no idea just how powerful it is. ![]() Hey guys, yes, RC has its quirks sometimes (I have it crash on me semi-frequently, but always back up and running quickly, as it never hangs my Win7, 圆4 system).
